ONE WORLD DAY EVENT- ARTS & CRAFTS STALL
On behalf of Grampian Regional Equality Council (GREC) I would like to invite the creatives to PREPARE FOR SALE some prints and craft to reflect and promote One World Week' s themes (that could be any world issues such as climate change, discrimination, health, financial crisis, poverty, politics etc.)
ABOUT THE EVENT
This event is part of a wider programme of activities taking place during One World Week. The aims of the One World Week and the One World Day are to provide an opportunity for people in Aberdeen to:
· Celebrate the diversity of cultures found in the City and build relationships of mutual respect between them;
· Learn together about global justice and development issues,
· Work together to promote justice both locally and globally;
The event takes place in Union Terrace Gardens. The date is Saturday 26th October 2013, time between 12.00 noon and 4.00 p.m. The Scottish Police Pipe Band will be opening proceedings
During the afternoon there will be various cultural performances including African drums and Thai dancing. There will also be food from around the world sold by commercial enterprises. For children there is face painting and a bouncy castle. There will also be activities for young people.
CONDITIONS
The stall organisation costs £20 that will be shared between all the sellers (And therefore, I hope it will be next to nothing for each of you). We also have to give out 10% of profit for charity if we are able to raise more that £20. From my personal observation, the visitors are very keen to buy things on such events.
HOW TO SELL YOUR ITEMS
1. Please contact me by email: annasubina@hotmail.com to FIRM YOUR PARTICIPATION or ask any questions. The deadline is Monday, October 14.
2. Please update me with the Name/ Short Description/ Price of the item(s) you would like to sell. The deadline is Monday, October 21.
3. Please submit your items for sale and a fee for a stall (that I will update you with on October, 22) to GREC office on 41 Union Street, AB11 5BN. You will also be provided with the information on how to collect the profits from sales.
